The Avon^® 500 is a wonderful workshop. It also makes a fabulous fishing lodge. The Avon^® 500 comes as standard with three opening windows and a lockable french door.

For your Log Cabin we recommend a solid concrete base to footprint size plus 100mm all the way round, for example:

• A 4m x 3m would need a base approximately 4200mm wide x 3200mm deep.
  
• For a 4m x 3m plus 1.5m decking the base would need to be approximately 4200mm wide x 4700mm deep.
  
• For a 9m x 3m the base would need to be approximately 9200mm wide x 3200mm deep.
  
• These sizes are the minimum sized base needed for these particular cabins.
  

Standard Avon® 500 Specification:

EXTERNAL SIZE 3m (9'10") wide x 5m (16'4") deep (approx).

INTERNAL SIZE for 28mm - 2.80m (9'2") wide x 4.80m (15'9") deep (approx).

INTERNAL SIZE for 45mm - 2.77m (9'1") wide x 4.77m (15'8") deep (approx).

INTERNAL SIZE for 130mm - 2.60m (8'6") wide x 4.60m (15'1") deep (approx).

WALLS (28mm or 45mm or 130mm) Tongue & Groove walls.

FLOOR 19mm Tongue & Groove floor boards for a sturdy floor.

ROOF 19mm Tongue & Groove roof timbers to create a sturdy roof.

 

Note: We only use tongue and groove timbers for our floor and roof not OSB sheet timber! (We only use MFP board on top of roof insulation, which will usually not be seen as it will have a roof covering over it).

INTERNAL EAVES 2040mm (6'8") (approx) High

CANOPY 1m (3'3") (approx.) deep canopy to create an area of shade and shelter outside the front of yor log cabin.

PREMIUM FRENCH DOOR - Our French doors are wider than most competitors meaning you can walk through one door with ease. Made with rebated door panels (for a more attractive appearance) and fitted with a secure lock, and sculpted Georgian bars. The French Door has a low threshold for better accessibility and less tripping! French Door is provided in 6 assembled pieces that fit together then slot into place.

PREMIUMPLUS FRENCH DOOR (Optional Extra) - Our French doors are wider than most competitors meaning you can walk through one door with ease. Made with rebated door panels (for a more attractive appearance) and fitted with a secure lock, and sculpted Georgian bars.Multi-Point locking system (on the master door), and is of the same type supplied with modern domestic doors. Concealed Shoot-Bolts (on the slave door), which means the doors cannot be opened, even from the inside, until they are unlocked. The door has a low threshold for better accessibility and less tripping.

3 PREMIUM OPENING WINDOWS - Made with glass, not Perspex. We use glass as it is clearer and much easier to clean than clear plastic. They are also fitted with sculpted georgian bars.

3 PREMIUMPLUS OPENING WINDOWS (Optional Extra) - Units are fitted with 28mm Toughened Glass Double Glazing (4mm unit, 20mm space, 4mm unit), which is thicker than any other level of glazing available on the log cabin market and so more thermal efficient. PremiumPlus™ Windows are provided with a Multi-Point locking system, with mushroom headed espagnolette locks. (Please Note: Windows and Doors require on site glazing)

GASKETS - All windows and doors are fitted with Gaskets for improved weatherproofing.

DOUBLE GLAZING Optional extra - * for improved Heat & Sound Insulation. ( see options below )

FLOOR BEARERS 70mm tall Pressure Treated floor bearers that sit underneath the log cabin to protect its foundations from damage by insects and fungal decay. Without pressure treated bearers moisture would damage the lower aspects of the cabin!

ROOF BEAMS Heavy duty 140mm x 45mm to prevent 'sagging'.

All wood is planed, pre-cut (with the exception of trims), and pre-notched for quick and easy construction. Click here to see how easy it is!

After simple assembly windows slot into place. Minor adjustments will have to be carried out on windows well within the scope of a competent DIYer.
