The Avon 5 Storage log cabin is a multipurpose garden building that gives you two separate rooms. Create a summerhouse and then partition the cabin to provide yourself with some extra outdoor storage space.

The design of the Avon Storage allows you to create the perfect cabin to suit your needs and requirements. There is no set position for the 28mm dividing wall so how you split the space inside your cabin into the two rooms is entirely up to you. There is also the possibility of having two external doors so that the two parts of the log cabin can be kept completely separate from each other. The single solid door will need to be cut into the log cabin wall, allowing you to place it where you want. This door can be fitted into either the side wall, back wall or even in the internal dividing wall.

The Avon 5 45 Storage Log Cabin Kit is supplied with a 28mm dividing wall, a French door, a single solid door, and three opening windows for light and ventilation.

For your Log Cabin we recommend a solid concrete base to footprint size plus 100mm all the way round, for example:

• A Rhine 4m x 3m would need a base approximately 4200mm wide x 3200mm deep.
  
• For a Rhine 4m x 3m plus 1.5m veranda the base would need to be approximately 4200mm wide x 4700mm deep.
  
• For a 9m x 3m Tamar Grande the base would need to be approximately 9200mm wide x 3200mm deep.
  
• These sizes are the minimum sized base needed for these particular cabins.
  

Standard Avon 5 45 Storage Specification:

EXTERNAL SIZE 3m (9'10") wide x 5m (16'5") deep (approx).

INTERNAL SIZE 2.77m (9'1") wide x 4.77m (15'8") deep (approx). (Sizes will vary depending on where you position the additional dividing wall to create the second room).

2 ROOMS

WALLS 45mm tongue and groove walls with bevelled notches for easy assembly and a better seal compared to straight cut notches.

DIVIDING WALL 28mm tongue and groove, can be positioned inside the log cabin anywhere between its front and back wall. Minimum width of partition is approximately 1m.

FLOOR 19mm tongue and groove floor boards for a sturdy floor.

ROOF- 19mm tongue and groove roof timbers to create a sturdy roof.

 

Note: We only use tongue and groove timbers for our floor and roof not OSB sheet timber! (We only use MFP board on top of roof insulation, which will usually not be seen as it will have a roof covering over it).

INTERNAL EAVES 2010mm (6'6") (approx) High, the lowest point inside, giving plenty of interior space (this means you won't bang your head!)

CANOPY 1.1m (3'6") (approx.) deep canopy to create an area of shade and shelter outside the front of yor log cabin.

FRENCH DOOR Made with rebated door panels (for a more attractive appearance) and fitted with a secure lock. The French Door is provided in 6 assembled pieces that fit together then slot into place.

SINGLE SOLID DOOR Will need to be cut into the log cabin wall wherever suits your needs. Can be fitted in either the side wall, the back wall, or even used as an internal door.

WINDOW 3- Made with glass, not Perspex. We use glass as it is clearer and much easier to clean than clear plastic.

DOUBLE GLAZING Optional extra - * for improved Heat & Sound Insulation. ( see options below )

FLOOR BEARERS 70mm x 70mm Pressure treated floor bearers that sit underneath the log cabin to protect its foundations from damage by insects and fungal decay. Without pressure treated bearers moisture would damage the lower aspects of the cabin!

ROOF BEAMS Heavy duty 140mm x 45mm to prevent 'sagging'.

All wood is planed, pre-cut (with the exception of trims), and pre-notched for quick and easy construction. Click here to see how easy it is!

After simple assembly windows slot into place. Minor adjustments will have to be carried out on windows well within the scope of a competent DIYer.
