For your Log Cabin we recommend a solid concrete base to footprint size plus 100mm all the way round, for example:

• A Rhine^® 4m x 3m would need a base approximately 4200mm wide x 3200mm deep.
  
• For a Rhine^® 4m x 3m plus 1.5m decking the base would need to be approximately 4200mm wide x 4700mm deep.
  
• For a 9m x 3m Tamar^® Grande the base would need to be approximately 9200mm wide x 3200mm deep.
  
• These sizes are the minimum sized base needed for these particular cabins.
  

Standard Severn® 4 45 Vantage+ Specification:

EXTERNAL SIZE 5m (16'5") wide x 4m (13'2") deep (approx).

RIDGE HEIGHT - 2.5m or 2.7m. Cabin can be assembled to accommodate both heights.

INTERNAL SIZE 4.77m (15'8") wide x 3.77m (12'5") deep (approx).

WALLS 45mm double tongue and groove walls with bevelled notches that give a better seal compared to straight cut notches and have an attractive finish.

FLOOR 19mm tongue and groove floor boards for a sturdy attractive floor.

FLOOR INSULATION 25mm foil backed polyurethane board that goes underneath the cabin floor boards.

ROOF 19mm tongue and groove roof boards for a sturdy attractive roof and ceiling.

ROOF INSULATION made with 50mm polyurethane, that goes on top of the roof boards to create an over all roof thickness of approximately 80mm.

 

Note: We only use tongue and groove timbers for our floor and roof not OSB sheet timber! (We only use MFP board on top of roof insulation, which will usually not be seen as it will have a roof covering over it).

INTERNAL EAVES 2010mm (6'6") (approx) High when assembled at the Taller Height and 1900mm (6'2") (approx) when assembled at the Lower Height. These measurements are the lowest point inside the cabin, giving plenty of interior space (this means you won't bang your head!)

CANOPY 1.1m (3'6") (approx.) deep canopy that provides you with an element of shade and shelter at the front of your cabin.

FRENCH DOOR - Made with rebated door panels (for a more attractive appearance) and fitted with a secure lock. French Door is provided in 6 assembled pieces that fit together then slot into place.

BI-FOLDING DOOR SHUTTERS give your cabin added privacy! As the doors fold it means that they take up less room as you are opening them and do not cause conflict with the window shutters if they are also open. Shutters are fitted to the inside of the log cabin as its doors open outwards.

2 WINDOWS Made with glass, not Perspex. We use glass because it is clearer and a lot easier to clean than clear plastic.

BAY WINDOW makes a unique and attractive feature that also gives you a window sill on the inside of your cabin the perfect place for a vase of flowers or a little plant.

WINDOW SHUTTERS Add an element of privacy to your log cabin. Shutters are fitted to the inside of the cabin as the window opens outwards. (Please Note: Shutters do not fully fold back).

TOUGHENED DOUBLE GLAZING 14mm sealed units are supplied for you to place in the windows and doors. (onsite glazing required)

2 FLOWER BOXES situated under the window at the side of the cabin. Allows you to add some decorative flowers outside your cabin to create an even more beautiful feature in your garden.

FLOOR BEARERS 70mm x 70mm Pressure treated floor bearers that are resistant to rot and insect infestation. Without pressure treated bearers moisture would damage the lower parts of the cabin!

ROOF BEAMS Heavy duty 140mm x 45mm to prevent 'sagging'.

All wood is planed, pre-cut (with the exception of trims), and pre-notched for quick and easy construction. Click here to see how easy it is!

After simple assembly windows slot into place. Minor adjustments will have to be carried out on windows well within the scope of a competent DIYer.
